Howdy, All

As soon as I had left my job I instantly knew I would take the opportunity to travel and the first thing I thought was, “Where to next?”

So, I decided to use the freedom to take a break and travel to China, ariving in Shanghai (after a 14 hour flight and a 16 hour time change) on August 30, 2005. I was advised to travel in a group trip, but I have never been one to travel by organized trips because I feel it takes a lot of the fun and flexibility out of travel (some might say I am not great at taking advice, either). Besides, figuring out what to do and how to get there is half the fun of international travel (or so had always been the case in the past)

So, follow along with my travels as I explore these fancinating lands of Eastern Asia.
