Rediscovering Reality
April 26th, 2002Adjustment has been very difficult these last 3 weeks. Since I returned, I have felt very disoriented here at home, around SF and ever around friends and family. Strangely, my apartment of the last 9 years did not feel so comfortable and familiar as I had remembered. Fortunately, I am slowly adjusting, though sadly I am slowly starting to lose my travel high. I have had a lot of trouble making previously simple decisions and taking care of ‘normal’ day to day tasks, but this is getting easier as I slowly regain my orientation and bearings. Just this week I started my jop search preparation with a 3 day Professional Continuation seminar that my old company paid for. This has been the first truly regimented days I have had in 9 months and it was a bit of a shock to say the least. It has also been difficult regaining my professional perspective and intellect, but this seminar fortunately helped a fair amount and I got a lot out of it. So, in other words, I am grudgingly adjusting back to life of a stationary adult, but I am already thinking of my next travels!
Keep livin’ the dream and make it your reality.
take care,
~ Vagabum Mike (back home in San Francisco and wishing I was still abroad)
